Short Bio
Sourena Vasseghi is the writer who can’t write and the speaker who can’t speak. Sourena’s life was forever impacted by a doctor’s decision that left him with severe cerebral palsy, needing a wheelchair, and talking with a speech impediment. For many this birth event and its effect would have been crippling in all ways. Sourena is different. Sourena didn’t allow this circumstance to control his life. Instead, he took control. Sourena decided he would determine his destiny, not his situation. This decision has led to Sourena living an abundant, fulfilling life that exceeds his circumstances.
Long Bio
Although born with severe cerebral palsy, which resulted in him having to use a wheelchair and speaking with an impediment, Sourena Vasseghi does not let his physical limitations define the possibilities of his life.
Although his differences are profound and their impact great, Sourena, the writer who cannot write and the speaker who cannot speak, has worked through his limitations to craft a career from skills that he literally cannot perform.
In his 20s, Sourena, who does not view his differences as a detriment, realized that only through determination would he be able to fully experience all that life has to offer.
Sourena’s determination to live a full and engaged life led him to graduate from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. And, subsequently, when he was unable to land a job in corporate America, it led him to create a career for himself as an author, inspirational speaker, and entrepreneur.
Now, as an executive coach, award-winning author, and inspirational speaker, Sourena teaches others to approach their limitations with the same determination and creativity that he used to be able to move beyond his challenges to live life on his own terms.
Sourena has spoken at TEDx, and he has been featured on media outlets such as NBC, ESPN, and BBC Capital just to name a few.
No matter the audience or the venue, Sourena never fails to deliver his message of inspiration, motivation, achieving one’s goals, and empowerment.
